Who I am ?

Sandrine Mary

With a scientific background in genetics, I'm the mother of two little girls, both born by C-section. I'm empathetic, caring, I love taking care of others, listening and exchanging, learning and passing on my knowledge.

During my two maternity experiences, I was transported by this feeling of being in osmosis with my babies. I felt surrounded and secure during the pregnancies. However, I felt totally lost and abandoned in society during my post-partum years. French by birth, I arrived in Belgium in 2012, and from Brussels to Namur via Nivelles, I know the difficulties of being an expatriate, far from my family to start a family.

In the course of my research, readings and encounters, the need to support parents through their pregnancy project, pregnancy,  post-partum preparation and the postpartum experience became obvious.

So if you are constructing your family project, I am there for you, enjoying the most of these precious moments.

Being a doula is a way of being, not a way of doing.

Yoga in my life

I've been practicing yoga since 2012, I've had several teachings, I've tried several styles, including prenatal during my two pregnancies. I'm particularly interested in asanas (postures), doing them correctly, if necessary with equipment, in order to align body and mind, without injuring oneself, and to be able to enjoy their benefits. All in the tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar.

I crossed paths with Julie (Au Fil de Soi, Nivelles) during my first pregnancy and was inspired by the way she takes an interest in and cares for women.

More recently, I discovered the teaching proposed by Jérôme (JerOm Ahimsa Yoga) at the Centre Convergence (Warisoulx, Namur) and I continue to learn with him.

Mon rendez-vous annuel : le jardin du yoga à l'abbaye de Villers-la-ville organisé par Mélissa (Yog & Me). On se retrouve là-bas ?

*Indeed, this is me in the picture ;-)
