Before

You're planning to become a parent, and feel the need for guidance and support during this process.

I propose the following:

  • Specific nutrition to promote fertility
  • Information about fertility (menstrual cycle)
  • Suggested yoga asanas to promote well-being at each stage of your menstrual cycle
  • Emotional support (including MAP and adoption)

You can choose between a one-off appointment or a daily presence package if your MAP program requires it.

Expectation

Congratulation !

Whatever the difficulties (or whether everything goes well), pregnancy is a highly medicalized stage. If you'd like to play a real part in this pregnancy, I propose the following*:

One-off appointment :

  • Postpartum Preparation Workshop : Build your support team and gain essential knowledge about the postpartum period.
  • Workshop on the Physiology of Birth : (includes Birth Plan Preparation). Your midwife or OB may have mentioned it, but what should actually go into your birth plan? Let’s break it down together

Book my workshop at home or online

Daily presence package at home (during the last trimester or when bedridden) :

  • Housework to support rest during the last trimester, or if you're bedridden during pregnancy.
  • Emotional support (including prenatal bereavement - spontaneous termination of pregnancy or medical abortion)
  • Specific nutrition for pregnant women: it's not necessary to eat 2x more but 2x better
  • Yoga and meditation to soothe body and mind

*IMPORTANT NOTICE: the care I offer does not replace medical care (gynecology and midwifery).

If you prefer, I propose discussion groups in french, at Centre de Convergence (Rue de Dhuy 9, Warisoulx).

Post-partum

You're baby is here, welcome !

Your body has changed during these months of pregnancy, and you need time to recover. Some cultures talk of 40 days, others 6-8 weeks, or the Golden Month. Your body took 9 months to prepare for childbirth, so it needs time to eliminate and find a new equilibrium (positioning and size of organs, hormones, blood flow...). This time is also needed to get to know your baby. I'll be the little fairy, there for you to help you recover both physically and psychologically.

If, unfortunately, you return home without a baby (perinatal bereavement, baby in neonatal unit, etc.), your body also needs time to recover, and your psyche needs to land. Accompaniment is also invaluable.

This post-partum support is provided on a daily basis, at home, on the basis of a package designed with you (minimum 3h/day, number of days/week to be defined with you, for a minimum period of 6 weeks).

We may also arrange appointments to answer any questions you may have about baby's development.

What does postnatal support involve?

Nutrition

Delivery or preparation of a regenerating meal, snack or breakfast based on recipes adapted to the specific needs of the postpartum period.

Housework

Laundry care, washing up, tidying up and simple cleanliness of the maternity nest.

Deep listening

Putting your feelings and sensations into words is a prerequisite for accepting events. Sharing advice and experience if desired.

Wellness and relaxation

Body and mind care: pelvic bandaging, yoga, breathing. Abdominal recovery exercises* (training by Dr Bernadette de Gasquet)

*IMPORTANT NOTICE: these exercises promote perineal re-education, but are not a substitute for it. It is very important for your feminine health that you also carry out perineal re-education with a trained professional.

Soutien à la parentalité

Emotional support during your matrescence/patrescence; assistance with the first steps in caring for a newborn: bathing, changing, breastfeeding (from start to weaning) or bottle-feeding, deciphering its signs, preparing for the return to work, food diversification.
